 l 1 — For complete beginners and children with some Spanish experience w
 ho are new to ILSCA.\n\nDescription:\n\nThis welcoming Spanish class gives
  children ages 6–9 a comfortable place to begin learning and using Spani
 sh. It is a good fit for children who are completely new to Spanish as wel
 l as those who have heard or used some Spanish at home\, school\, or anoth
 er program and are new to ILSCA.\n\nThe class changes with the seasons\, i
 ntroducing new Spanish vocabulary\, songs\, stories\, and activities conne
 cted to the time of year. Children explore themes such as nature\, weather
 \, holidays\, celebrations\, and familiar everyday experiences. Each seaso
 n brings new vocabulary and activities while continuing to review and buil
 d on words and phrases children have already learned.\n\nThrough songs\, g
 ames\, stories\, movement\, conversation\, and hands-on activities\, child
 ren practice listening and speaking and become more comfortable using Span
 ish. They have opportunities to answer questions\, interact with their cla
 ssmates\, and use Spanish in simple\, everyday situations.\n\nChildren are
  encouraged to participate at their own pace while building their vocabula
 ry and becoming more comfortable hearing and speaking Spanish. The class p
 rovides a supportive starting point for children who are new to the langua
 ge as well as those who are continuing from previous Spanish experiences.\
 n\nNo Class: Please note\, this class will not meet on Feb 13 &amp\; Mar 2
 7\n\nMaterials &amp\; Classroom Resource Fee: A $15 fee is collected by th
 e instructor on the first day of class. Please bring the fee in cash in an
