🧒 Who Can Attend?
Our Summer Spanish Immersion Camp is designed for children ages 3–12.
No previous Spanish experience is needed. Beginners, bilingual children, and children who already speak some Spanish are all welcome.
Children will be grouped by age so activities and language experiences are appropriate, engaging, and enjoyable for each group.

Daily Spanish immersion activities through songs, stories, games, and hands-on learning
Cultural crafts, music, and movement inspired by Spanish-speaking cultures
A special ILSCA Camp T-shirt to wear each day
Daily outdoor time on the beautiful Pitzer College campus
Group photo and Friday closing celebration at 11:30 AM — families are warmly invited to join us!

Each day brings a little something different to make Spanish learning even more memorable!

Tuesday — Camp T-Shirt Day: Wear your ILSCA Camp T-shirt and learn how to describe it in Spanish!
Wednesday — Hat Day: Wear or bring your favorite fun hat!
Thursday — Get Wet Day: Come dressed for water play and outdoor fun. Please bring a change of clothes.
Friday — Camp T-Shirt & Closing Celebration: Wear your ILSCA Camp T-shirt as we celebrate a wonderful week together! Families are welcome to join us at 11:30 AM.

These simple theme days give children opportunities to use Spanish naturally while having fun with their classmates.

Please send your child with:

A labeled water bottle
A healthy snack
Comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes for indoor and outdoor activities
A big smile and a sense of adventure!

Wednesday: Please also bring a change of clothes and a towel for our Get Wet Day.

Meet Our Camp Team

Our Summer Spanish Immersion Camp team brings together experienced Spanish educators who are passionate about creating a welcoming, engaging experience for every child.

Nuria Fortier — Camp Director and Spanish Instructor, originally from Mexico, with more than a decade of experience in language education.

Angela Martinez — Spanish instructor from Peru with more than 15 years of experience and a passion for immersion-based learning.

Florida Rojas — Spanish instructor from Colombia, known for creating dynamic, engaging, and enjoyable language-learning experiences.

Stephanie Ibarra — UCLA graduate and dual-language educator who brings creativity and enthusiasm to helping children learn Spanish.

Each instructor is supported by one or two classroom aides, helping us provide children with individual attention, a safe learning environment, and plenty of support throughout the day.

Together, our team creates a camp where children can learn Spanish, build confidence, make friends, and have fun.

Why Learn Spanish?
Learning Spanish helps children build confidence, connect with others, develop cultural awareness, and strengthen communication skills. It can also open doors to future educational, travel, and career opportunities.
What Ages Can Attend?
Our camp is designed for children ages 3–12. Children are grouped by age so activities and instruction are appropriate for their stage of development.
What Does “Spanish Immersion” Mean?
Spanish immersion means children hear and use Spanish throughout the camp experience. They learn naturally through songs, stories, games, music, crafts, movement, conversation, and hands-on activities.
My Child Doesn’t Speak Spanish. Is That Okay?
Absolutely! No previous Spanish experience is required. We welcome beginners, bilingual children, and children with different levels of Spanish experience. Our supportive approach helps every child participate and learn at their own level.
Are Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Students Welcome?
Yes! DLI students are especially welcome. Camp gives children an opportunity to use Spanish beyond the classroom and build confidence speaking with others.
We encourage children to speak and participate in Spanish through conversation, games, songs, stories, and hands-on activities. The goal is to help children become comfortable using Spanish naturally—not simply understanding it.
How Are Children Grouped?
Children are primarily grouped by age, with activities adapted to accommodate different levels of Spanish experience. This allows beginners, bilingual children, and more advanced Spanish learners to participate and grow together.
Will Children Have Outdoor Time?
Yes! Children enjoy daily outdoor time on the Pitzer College campus, weather permitting. Please apply sunscreen before camp and send your child with a labeled water bottle, comfortable clothing, and closed-toe shoes.

What Is Included in Tuition?
The $299 tuition includes five mornings of Spanish immersion activities, cultural projects, music and movement, outdoor activities, and an ILSCA Camp T-shirt.
Who Teaches the Camp?
Our camp is led by experienced Spanish educators, with one or two classroom aides supporting each instructor. This allows us to provide children with individual attention and a welcoming, supportive environment.
