Beginner ASL – Family & Adult Class, Sat

Class Information

Language Level: Beginner – No prior ASL experience required.

Description:

This beginner American Sign Language (ASL) class welcomes adults who want to learn on their own, as well as parents and other adults who would like to learn alongside their children ages 6 and up.

Students will be introduced to basic ASL signs, fingerspelling, everyday vocabulary, and simple sentences. Through interactive activities and guided signing practice, adults and children will have opportunities to learn together, communicate, and become more comfortable using ASL.

For families, the class offers a shared learning experience, with signs and expressions they can continue practicing at home and in everyday situations.

The class is taught by a Deaf instructor, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from someone who uses ASL and brings firsthand knowledge of Deaf language and culture to the classroom.

No Classes: March 28.

Materials Fee: A $15 Materials & Classroom Resource Fee is payable directly to the instructor on the first day of class. This fee is separate from tuition and covers classroom materials and instructional resources.
