Class Information

Ages: Children 3–5
Language Level: Level 1 — No prior Spanish experience required; children with some Spanish exposure are also welcome.

Description:

This welcoming Spanish class gives young children ages 3–5 a comfortable and engaging place to begin learning and using Spanish. It is a good fit for children who are new to Spanish as well as children who already hear or use some Spanish at home. Children participate independently with the guidance and support of their instructor.

The class changes with the seasons, introducing new Spanish vocabulary, songs, stories, and activities connected to the time of year. Children explore themes such as nature, weather, holidays, celebrations, and familiar everyday experiences. Each season brings new vocabulary and activities while continuing to review and build on words and phrases children have already learned.

Through songs, stories, games, movement, repetition, and hands-on activities, children practice listening and speaking and become more comfortable hearing and using Spanish. Activities are age-appropriate and give children opportunities to participate, interact, and use Spanish in simple, meaningful ways.

Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace as they become familiar with Spanish and build on what they already know.

No Class: Please note, this class will not meet on Feb 13 & Mar 27

Materials & Classroom Resource Fee: A $15 fee is collected by the instructor on the first day of class. Please bring the fee in cash in an envelope labeled with your child’s name.
