ILSCA Policies & Terms of Use

Thank you for choosing the International Language School for Children & Adults (ILSCA).

Since 1991, ILSCA has been dedicated to providing high-quality language education in a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment. We believe that learning a language builds confidence, curiosity, and meaningful connections with other cultures.

Our policies are designed to create a positive experience for every student while allowing us to maintain small class sizes, experienced instructors, and thoughtfully prepared programs.

By registering for any ILSCA class, private lesson, workshop, or camp, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the policies outlined below.

Registration & Payment

Submitting a registration form begins the enrollment process.

Enrollment is confirmed only after registration and full payment have been received.

Because class sizes are limited, spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Payment Methods

To keep our tuition focused on providing high-quality language instruction, ILSCA accepts the following payment methods:

  • Zelle (preferred)
  • Check

Payment instructions will be provided after registration.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

We understand that families’ schedules can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide fairness to families while allowing ILSCA to responsibly plan staffing, classroom space, and instructional materials.

All cancellation or refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

hello@ilsca.com

Requests must include:

  • Student name
  • Program or class name
  • Class day and time
  • Contact information

Weekly Group Classes

Refund requests must be received at least 72 hours before the second scheduled class of the session.

Approved refunds are prorated based on the remaining classes and are subject to a $25 administrative processing fee.

After this deadline, enrollment becomes final, and refunds, credits, or transfers are no longer available.

Missed Classes

Tuition cannot be refunded or credited for missed classes due to illness, vacations, scheduling conflicts, or other personal circumstances.

If a student is absent, families may request homework or class materials through the ILSCA office.

Because our curriculum builds from week to week and classroom space is reserved for each student, makeup classes for individual absences are generally not available.

Private Lessons

Private lessons may be canceled or rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice.

Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

Students who miss three consecutive lessons without communication may be withdrawn from the program.

Documented family emergencies will be reviewed individually.

Spanish Immersion Camp Cancellation Policy

Our Spanish Immersion Camp is carefully planned in advance. Classroom space, instructor schedules, staffing, supplies, and educational materials are reserved specifically for each camper.

Cancellation 72 Hours or More Before Camp

Families are eligible for a refund less the:

$25 Materials & Classroom Resource Fee

Less Than 72 Hours Before Camp or Within 24 Hours After the First Day

Refunds are not available.

Families may request a non-transferable credit, less the $25 Materials & Classroom Resource Fee, toward:

  • A future ILSCA Spanish class
  • A future Spanish Immersion Camp

More Than 24 Hours After the First Day

Refunds, credits, and transfers are not available.

Family Emergencies

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise.

Documented family emergencies will be reviewed individually. When appropriate, ILSCA may issue a non-transferable credit toward a future eligible program.

Credit Terms

Any credit issued:

  • Has no cash value
  • Is non-transferable
  • Must be used within 12 months of the original program date
  • Is subject to availability

Non-Refundable Fees

The following fees are non-refundable:

  • $15 Materials & Classroom Resource Fee
  • Workbooks
  • Required learning materials

Class Changes or Cancellations by ILSCA

Small class sizes are an important part of the ILSCA learning experience.

If enrollment is too low to run a class, ILSCA reserves the right to cancel, combine, or adjust the class schedule.

If ILSCA must cancel a class during the session, we will make every reasonable effort to:

  • Provide a qualified substitute instructor
  • Schedule a makeup class
  • Offer an alternative learning option
  • Provide a prorated refund if instruction cannot be completed

Weather & Emergency Closures

If classes cannot be held due to severe weather, natural disasters, campus closures, public health emergencies, or other circumstances beyond ILSCA’s reasonable control, classes may be rescheduled, moved online when appropriate, or a makeup class may be provided.

Refunds are not available for closures resulting from circumstances beyond ILSCA’s control.

Attendance & Homework

If a student will be absent, please notify the instructor.

Homework and class materials may be requested through the ILSCA office when available.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us.

Information collected during registration is used only to process enrollment, communicate about classes and programs, and provide important school updates.

ILSCA does not sell, rent, or share personal information with outside organizations except when necessary to process enrollment or comply with applicable laws.

Photo & Media Release

Unless ILSCA receives written notice, families grant permission for photographs or videos taken during classes, camps, workshops, and events to be used for educational and promotional purposes, including the ILSCA website, newsletters, and social media.

No compensation will be provided for such use.

Health & Safety Waiver

ILSCA prioritizes the safety and well-being of our students.

ILSCA maintains general liability insurance for its operations; however, participants are responsible for maintaining their own medical insurance coverage.

By participating in ILSCA programs, families acknowledge the normal risks associated with educational activities and release ILSCA, its instructors, employees, volunteers, and representatives from liability for injuries or damages arising from participation, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Emergency Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, parents and adult students authorize qualified emergency medical personnel to provide necessary treatment if they cannot be reached.

Families are responsible for any medical expenses incurred.
