Welcome to a Week of Spanish Fun and Learning!
🌟 Program Overview:
Our Summer Spanish Immersion Camp is not just any camp – it’s where 3-12-year-olds
have a blast, exploring the Spanish language and culture without leaving town! Think
hands-on activities, cultural experiences, and tons of memories.
🎨 Activities:
Dive into a variety of exciting themes like cultural activities, music, dance, art, crafts,
games, and more! It’s a week packed with learning and laughter.
🏫 Location:
We’re thrilled to bring the camp to Pitzer College, using both tech-savvy classrooms and
the beautiful outdoors for all the fun in one convenient spot.
📘 Curriculum:
Designed for ages 3 to 12, our camp is all about interactive learning. We’ve got a mix of
playful and instructional activities centered around Latin Culture. All proficiency levels
are welcome, with participants grouped by age.
What We Do:
Our approach? Make learning Spanish a joy! Lessons are infused with Latin Culture and
introduced through visuals, art, storytelling, and more. We’re all about active
communication, helping kids use their vocabulary in real-life situations.
🗓 A Typical Camp Day:
9:00-9:30 am: Welcome/Saludos
9:30-10:00 am: Table time (crafts)
10:00-10:30 am: Storytime
10:30-11:00 am: Snack-Music and outdoor games
11:00-11:30 am: Table-Songs time Art
11:30-11:45 am: Dance: Cumbia (Colombian dance), and songs
11:45 – 12:00: Release and goodbye
Director:
Nuria Fortier, originally from Mexico, brings over a decade of teaching experience to her
passion for language acquisition. Dedicated to helping others learn, she finds fulfillment
in sharing her expertise and fostering language skills.
Instructors:
Angela Martinez, from Peru, with over twenty years of extensive teaching and Spanish
cultural expertise. She specializes in employing communicative and immersion-based
teaching methods to facilitate language learning effectively.
Florida Rojas, from Colombia, holds a Diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign
Language from UNAM’s Centro de Estudios del Lenguaje. She possesses extensive
knowledge of the language and excels in making learning enjoyable. She is skilled at
creating engaging and dynamic classroom environments that captivate her students’
interest.
Stephanie Ibarra brings a vibrant passion for education and 6 years of experience to
1st-3rd grade classrooms. She thrives in fostering a love of learning within
dual-language environments. Stephanie holds a B.A. from UCLA and has enriched her
studies of the Spanish Language by studying abroad at Universidad de Puebla, Mexico.
Demonstrating her commitment to excellence, she furthered her qualifications with a
BCLAD authorization and a Master of Science in Education from Cal State Fullerton.
Currently, Stephanie is dedicated to empowering students as a dual language teacher
within the Upland Unified School District.

Do I Pack Lunch?
Yes, a packed lunch and water each day. Optional cold treats on Wednesday and
Friday.
Outdoor Playtime?
Definitely! Sunscreen up, and get ready for some outdoor fun every day.
