Class: Spanish Conversation for Heritage Speakers & DLI Students
Ages: Children 5–12
Language Level: For children who already speak or understand Spanish, including heritage speakers and students enrolled in Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs.
Description:
This Spanish conversation class welcomes children who already have some familiarity with Spanish and would benefit from additional opportunities to practice speaking and expressing themselves in the language.
Whether children speak Spanish at home, understand more than they feel comfortable speaking, or attend a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program, this class provides additional support through regular conversation practice.
Through guided discussions, stories, games, questions and answers, and interactive activities, children practice expressing their thoughts, sharing experiences, describing situations, and communicating with others in Spanish.
The focus is on strengthening Spanish through conversation. Students receive guidance and encouragement as they work on expanding their vocabulary, forming more complete sentences, improving pronunciation, and expressing their ideas more clearly.
Activities are adapted to students’ language abilities and provide opportunities to practice the Spanish they already know while strengthening areas where they may need additional support.
Our small-group setting gives children time to speak, ask questions, listen to classmates, and receive individual guidance from their instructor. The goal is to help children continue developing their conversational skills and feel more comfortable using Spanish at home, at school, and in everyday situations.

Materials Fee: A $15 Materials & Classroom Resource Fee is payable directly to the instructor on the first day of class. Please bring cash in an envelope labeled with your child’s name. This fee is separate from tuition and covers classroom materials and instructional resources.
